The Pakistani heartthrob, Imran Abbas Naqvi, a model turned actor is all set to give his debut in a Bollywood action movie working with none other than Akshay Kumar. He is being launched by Ashwin Varde, who recently turned producer with Akshay Kumar-starrer “Main Hoon Boss”. Directed by Anthony D’Souza; the film is a remake of the Malayam film, Pokkiri Raja.
When asked about stepping into Bollywood, Imran said “As you know that Pakistani film industry is not making such progress and we grew up watching Bollywood movies, So, I prefer to work in Bollywood as it is my dream too. “
Talking about the movie Imran said “It’s been over two weeks that I am in Mumbai. The shooting of the movie will start from next month, at the moment I’m just busy getting trained for fight and action scenes that I need to do for the movie. The other day I was doing my fight training at the Juhu beach and my skin literally got burnt and tanned in the heat. Seriously it’s not easy to be an actor, you need to know much more beyond acting. I consider myself lucky to have got the chance to act in Bollywood movies. It’s a great learning experience for me. Every day I get to learn so many new things. The Indian cinema industry is so professional and well organized I wish we had the same scenario in the Pakistan film industry too.”
The film is expected to go on the floors in mid-2013 and will hit the theatres by early 2014. The hunt for a leading lady is on.
Well, we hope that Imran manages to win the hearts in Bollywood and progresses more and more like other Pakistani actors. Good luck!
