SOfE (Speak Out for Engineering) is a global competition conducted by IMechE where young & aspiring Engineers exhibit their communication, speaking and presentation skills. The sole purpose of this competition is to polish & enhance the public speaking skills of the undergraduate engineers.This competition is not only rewarding in terms of prizes such as price money but it also grant students a chance to compete in regional, national and global rounds.
This will ultimately benefit them by giving out an opportunity to get in touch with the global engineering circle. It is the annual presentation competition for IMechE young members. You will get the opportunity to present on a technical topic of your choice in front of a panel of judges who will assess the entries and provide feedback. The aim of the competition is to develop your presentation/communication skills and being able to deliver a technical presentation to a primarily non-technical audience.
You can present on any technical topic of your choice; a technical hobby or interest, a university or work-related project or even something unique for the competition. What we are looking for, are enthusiastic people who want to develop their presentation skills.
In conclusion, SOfE behaves as a turning point & a beam of light for all the Engineers out there, acting as a guide for their future career life.
