FAIZA BILGRAMI

Faiza R. Bilgrami, is a textile designer and an artist who recently graduated from Indus Valley School of Arts and Architecture, majoring in Print Design. As she embarks into the real world, she is debuting and exhibiting her work.

Her work is surrounded by working with different techniques of designing and weaving, creating prints and designs. Her current collection of Saris is based on the concept of intertwining nature and the five special senses. Her educational background is related to sciences, and whilst studying it was often the case, that parallels would be drawn between nature and the anatomy. The similarity between the panning of the leaves and the branching of the bronchioles in the lungs, as well as the grooves on the surface of a walnut to the gyri of the brain.

An artist to the tee, her work is not limited to textile designing. Her love for colors and seeing art in every aspect, is the reason she loves to paint in her free time. At this exhibition, she will also display her paintings. The use of any means to create art is one of the greatest qualities of an artist. Her work also includes creating paintings with the use of tar coal and petrol.

At present, she is involved with various projects as well as working on her next body of artwork.
