An evening with Ustad Shafqat Salamat Ali Khan
at National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA), Karachi on 26 November, 2023 at 8.30pm sharp.
Son of legendary maestro of Sham Chaurasi gharana, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, -Ustad Shafqat Salamat Ali Khan carries the formidable legacy of his gharana which successfully combines the “angs” of Dhrupad, Kaafi, and Khayal in its distinctive style. Renowned for his tayyari, laey-kari, and the bedaar gayeki he employed in semi-classical renditions of kaafi, thumri, dadras etc., he has followers all over the globe.
Ustad Shafqat Ali Khan will be joined by his sons, Faizan & Nadir Ali Khan in the performance. Accompaniment will be provided by Ishtiaq Hussain on Harmonium, Kashif Ali Dhani on Tabla, Gul Mohammad on sarangi & Tariq Naseeb on Tanpura.
