The Saifeena Wedding – details and exclusive pictures

One of the most talked about and the most awaited wedding of B-town finally took place, yes I’m talking about Saif and Kareena’s wedding or in other words The Saifeena Wedding!

 

A private family affair was what it was touted to be, but now it turned out to be a lavish ceremony with numerous functions including sangeet, mehendi, wedding and reception, between October 13 and 18. The celebrations began with a Sangeet on Sunday at Bebo’s Bandra residence was a private affair with the terrace venue covered to prevent media getting a peek. Many Bollywood celebrities were spotted at the party including Neetu Singh, Babita, Sanjay Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu among others. Kareena was wearing a traditional yellow-golden lehenga.

The Mehndi Ceremony took place at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai on Monday, 15th October, 2012 and pictures were clicked while they were seen heading towards the hotel. Both Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor looked amazing; while the Nawab wore a tuxedo, Bebo’s chunky glittery earrings caught our attention! Not to mention, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kapoor too looked great together!

The Nikaah ceremony was held at Saif’s Bandra residence. The newly-wed couple looked ecstatic as they posed for photographs outside Saif’s Bandra residence following their registered marriage. Kareena Kapoor wore a green Punjabi suit, while Saif Ali Khan looked dapper in a classic grey kurta-pyjama. Not to forget all her clother were designed by one on Kareena’s closest friends Manish Malhotra.

Malhotra said that the 32-year-old actress wore Saif’s grandmother’s traditional gharara for the ceremony last night. The actor’s mother Sharmila Tagore had worn the same gharara at her own nikaah. She then passed it on to her son’s new wife.

Delhi-based designer Ritu Kumar was given the responsibility of restoring and embellishing the gharara. “I worked on the antique Pataudi gharara that was restored by Ritu Kumar for Kareena’s wedding… we did the final fittings and added a bit of touch of embroidery here and there,” Malhotra said. “When Saif and Kareena exchanged vows… she wore Sharmilaji‘s gharara for some time,” Malhotra said.

Kareena’s sister Karishma and father Randhir Kapoor were seen greeting scores of media persons waiting outside the residence to get a glimpse of the couple.

Bebo will become Begum of Bhopal, and has received wishes from none other than Brad Pitt. “Saif and Kareena can be called Bollywood’s sexiest couple … I wish them a happy married life,” he reportedly said.
